As Global Senior Partner, Arabella is responsible for the long-term strategic development of Perrett Laver alongside the acceleration of its commercial growth.

Arabella has been at Perrett Laver for over twelve years and was Global Head of the Social Impact and Environment Practice for 8 years. Arabella scaled and diversified Perrett Laver’s Social Impact and Environment Practice to become one of the leading advisors on leadership recruitment in the sector.

Arabella’s experience at Perrett Laver includes senior Chair, Board and Chief Executive appointments across the Social Impact and Environment Sector. This includes working with INGOs, Foundations, domestic non-profits, the UN, research institutes, social enterprises and at the intersection of the social impact and private sector.

Arabella holds a MA (Hons) in Ancient History from the University of Edinburgh and a PG Dip in Psychology at the Institute of Education, University of London.

As Global Senior Partner, Sinéad is responsible for the long-term strategic development of Perrett Laver alongside the acceleration of its commercial growth.

During her ten years at Perrett Laver, Sinéad established and led the firm’s operations in Amsterdam and Dublin, while continuing to grow Perrett Laver’s Research, Technology and Innovation, and Higher Education practices across Europe.

Sinéad’s experience at Perrett Laver includes advising on senior executive and non-executive appointments for universities, public and privately funded research institutes, as well as research-oriented charities and non-profits.

Sinéad holds an honours degree in Natural Science from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in Neuroscience from University College Cork.

Thomas Weinberg

Global Managing Partner

Tom has been with Perrett Laver for twelve years, having served as Joint Managing Partner for the UK and Global Head for Knowledge and Innovation Economies.

Tom has grown Perrett Laver’s work across Latin America and the Middle East, co-led Perrett Laver’s largest region through a significant period of growth and spent two years in the US opening the company’s first office there.

Tom has advised upon senior executive and board appointments for institutions in over twenty countries, for institutions including the University of Oxford, NYU, Monterrey Tec, the University of Cape Town, Imperial, INSEAD, HKUST and Nanyang Technological University and at organizations such as the Chatham House, NEOM and the Africa Health Research Institute.

Prior to joining Perrett Laver he worked in the communications industry. He holds an MA (hons) from the University of Edinburgh.

Dan Perrett

Founder Director, Non-Executive

Dan Perrett is one of Perrett Laver’s co-founders. His areas of expertise in senior level executive search included CEO and Board-level appointments, in the education, healthcare, not for profit and private equity sectors. 

He holds a first class honours degree and an MPhil in Economics and Politics of Development, both from the University of Cambridge, where he was a member of Jesus College. A Cambridge University rugby blue, Dan played first class rugby for a number of years and represented Cambridge, Oxbridge, Rosslyn Park and Surrey.

He is the Chair of the Governing Body of the Guildford High School for Girls and a former member of the Local Governing Body of Lambeth Academy; and an Ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK.

Simon Laver

Founder Director, Non-Executive

Simon Laver is one of Perrett Laver’s co-founders. His diverse experience in senior level executive search included CEO and board-level appointments in higher education, international development, research, life sciences and healthcare.

He holds a first class degree from the University of Oxford and an MBA from the London Business School (including a semester at the Tuck School, Dartmouth College). Throughout his working life he has been very active in the Global Development sector having been Chair and Trustee for a number of internationally leading INGOs.

Jim Graham

Deputy Chairperson, Independent Non-Executive

Jim is a member of Perrett Laver’s Advisory Board.

Jim started his career as a Weapons and Sensors Engineer in the Royal Navy where he reached the rank of Lieutenant Commander working for 15 years in operational, policy procurement and intelligence roles  in the Ministry of Defence and GCHQ. After an MBA, Jim joined Accenture as a Management Consultant and worked on strategy projects with large multinational clients including AOL, Shell, Cable & Wireless and EMI.

From here he joined Orange where he had roles as Strategy Director, Marketing Services Director and finally as Managing Director of the £1.3bn turnover UK pay-as-you-go mobile business which with 10m customers was the largest base of any European mobile operator.

In 2007 Jim entered the world of Private Equity, first at Candover and subsequently at Phoenix Equity Partners as Operating Partner. In these roles he represented the shareholder as a director on the boards of over a dozen companies advising on growth strategies across a range of industries including consumer products, industrials and business services.

In 2014 Jim joined The Gym Group as Chief Operating Officer, a UK budget gym chain, where he spent 3 years tripling the size of the business and securing a successful return for investors via a main FTSE listing IPO which valued the business at £250m.

Since 2017 Jim has been a plural chairperson for several private equity and venture capital backed businesses across a variety of sectors. He recently joining Oxford Science Enterprises plc as an advisor to their Deep Tech venture capital fund.

Jim has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, an MSc in Mathematics from Cranfield University and an MBA from London Business School.

In his spare time Jim has a mild triathlon addiction and has completed 17 Ironman races including the World Championship in Hawaii.

Arabella Chichester

Professor Dame Alison Richard is Chair of Perrett Laver’s Advisory Board. Dame Alison is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge having previously been the Provost of Yale University. She is a member of the Boards of WWF-International, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and she serves as an advisor to the Liz Claiborne/Art Ortenberg Foundation, and to Arcadia.

Dame Alison received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Cambridge University, and her doctorate from London University. In 1972, she moved to the US to join Yale University, where she became Professor of Anthropology in 1986. From 1991-1994, she was Director of the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, which houses one of the world’s most important university natural history collections. In 1998 she was named the Franklin Muzzy Crosby Professor of the Human Environment. From 1994-2002, she served as Provost of Yale, with operational responsibility for the University’s financial and academic programs and planning.

From 2003-2010, Dame Alison was Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, a position carrying the responsibilities of university president. During her tenure, she led several major changes in university policy, ranging from intellectual property to undergraduate financial aid, reorganized management of the University’s endowment, expanded Cambridge’s global partnerships, most notably in the US, China, India, Singapore and the Persian Gulf, and launched and completed a billion pound fund-raising campaign. Her achievements received recognition in 2010, when she was awarded a DBE (Dame Commander of the British Empire) for her services to Higher Education.

An eminent researcher, Dame Alison has studied the ecology and social behaviour of wild primates in Central America, West Africa, and the Himalayan foothills. She is best known for her work on lemurs in the forests of southern Madagascar. For over thirty years, she has worked to help conserve Madagascar’s unique natural heritage and enhance socio-economic opportunities for people living in and around the forest. She has received numerous honorary doctorates, and in 2005 she was appointed Officier de l’Ordre National in Madagascar.

Bertil Andersson

Member of Advisory Board

Professor Andersson served as the third President of NTU, from 2011 to 2017. During this time, he led the University to global distinction. In 2017, NTU was ranked 11th in the world and the best in Asia in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. That year, it was again placed the world’s best young university (under 50 years old) by QS for the fourth consecutive year. In research, NTU rose to lead the top Asian universities in normalised research citation impact (Clarivate Analytics’ InCites 2015 and 2016) and became Singapore’s top institution in research. A Fellow of Imperial College London, Professor Andersson was instrumental in Imperial College London coming to Singapore to jointly establish a medical school with NTU.

Professor Andersson served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at Stockholm University before being appointed the Rector of Linköping University, Sweden. From 2004, he led the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg, France, as its Chief Executive and joined NTU as Provost in 2007.

He was a member of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry 1989 to 1997. He was appointed Chairman in 1997 and between 2000 to 2006 was on the Board of the Nobel Foundation.

Professor Andersson received the Austrian Wilhelm Exner Medal and the Singapore President’s Science and Technology Medal, both top honours for lifetime achievement in science and research that has advanced society. In 2016, he was elected a Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science for his distinguished contributions to science development in Singapore and for leading NTU to global distinction. In 2017, he became the first European in 10 years to receive the Meritorious Service Medal from the Singapore government for his contributions to NTU and to the nation.

Professor Andersson received his BSc and MSc at Umeå University, Sweden, before completing his PhD and DSc at Lund University, Sweden.

He holds more than 16 honorary doctorates from universities that include Tianjin University, University of Edinburgh, University of Exeter, University of Southampton, University of New South Wales, Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Hanyang University. In 2017, he was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Science honoris causa for his exceptional contributions to science from Australian National University.

Sian Carr

Sian Carr is a member of Perrett Laver’s Advisory Board.

Ms. Sian Carr has many years’ experience in the field of education. She started her career as a teacher of French at the School of St David and St Katherine in the United Kingdom from September 1982 to August 1985. From September 1985 to August 1990, she served as the Head of Modern Languages at St Bonaventure’s School in the United Kingdom. From September 1990 to August 1993, she served as a senior teacher at St Edward’s School in the United Kingdom. From September 1993 to December 1996, she served as a Deputy Headteacher at Beal High School in the United Kingdom. From January 1997 to December 2003, she served as a Headteacher at the Sandon School in the United Kingdom. From January 2003 to May 2006, she served as a Director of Eastern Leadership Centre (UK). From May 2006 to May 2009, she served as an Operational Director of National College for School Leadership in the United Kingdom. From May 2009 to 2019, she served as the Principal and then Executive Principal for Skinners’ Kent Academy and Skinners’ Kent Primary School in the United Kingdom. She has served as Board member for the International Baccalaureate and also UCAS.

She is a member of the Skinners’ Company, serving on their Education Committee. Until very recently Sian was the Director of Education for Asia International Schools Ltd, which oversees the Harrow International Schools in China, Thailand and Hong Kong. She was recently awarded an O.B.E. for her services to education in the Birthday Honours List for 2020.
