About Nanyang Technological University

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, established in 1991, is a globally renowned institution known for its strong emphasis on engineering, technology, and business.

With its main campus in Jurong West, NTU boasts a verdant, modern campus equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including iconic structures like The Hive. The university is highly ranked worldwide, particularly noted for its research and innovation in areas such as sustainable development, artificial intelligence, and biomedical sciences.

NTU offers a comprehensive range of programs across various disciplines, supported by a vibrant student life with numerous clubs and residential options.

The successful candidate has been Professor Teck Hua HO, previously Senior Deputy President and Provost and Deputy President (Research and Technology) at the National University of Singapore (NUS)

Perrett Laver was appointed to support the Chair of NTU and her Board in their search for a President in 2022. This search has been one of six senior searches over the past four years at Senior Team/Dean level that Perrett Laver conducted for NTU.

Our search for NTU’s President was highly focussed and concentrated on established leaders amongst the world’s top universities. The search attracted an outstanding field, including members of the senior teams of universities ranked in the global top 20.

Professor Ho is a prominent behavioural scientist with a PhD and a master’s degree in decision sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a master’s degree in computer and information sciences and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with first class honours, both from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He returned to Singapore from the US and was first awardee (in 2015) of the Singapore National Research Foundation’s Returning Singaporean Scientists Scheme

Since Prof Ho’s appointment, Perrett Laver has supported the University on three Dean roles (Business, Engineering and Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences)

We have been very privileged to support NTU on this vital search. The calibre of candidates NTU is able to attract is simply outstanding and only matched by the thoughtfulness and commitment of the selection panel to secure the most suitable candidate from a highly competitive field.
