Professor Chico is widely recognised as an outstanding clinician and scientist with extensive clinical experience, who has made significant research contributions, and has an unwavering commitment to improving cardiovascular outcomes for patients and communities across the UK.
His career spans clinical care, academia, and industry across genetics, vascular biology, public health, drug discovery, health data science and research translation.
He is also Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Sheffield, and a consultant cardiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
I am really looking forward to working closely with Professor Chico to shape the future of our health programmes and ensure our bold ambitions are delivered with impact, clarity and purpose.
