As we look ahead to 2031, when our University will celebrate 150 years of creativity, innovation and global impact, we are seeking our next Vice-Chancellor, who will take us there, and beyond. Since 1881, our mission has been the advancement of learning and the ennoblement of life. The opportunity to further this aim now, with our teaching and research already transforming lives in our renowned home city and around the world, has never been greater. 

Our next Vice-Chancellor will lead a 300,000 strong international community of staff, students and alumni with a shared passion for a university and place that stand out from crowd. Outward-looking, pioneering, welcoming, diverse and inclusive, we are proud to share many characteristics with the city of Liverpool.  We are at the heart of the city region’s ambitions, which will bring the University’s research in areas including advanced materials, digital, health and sustainability to the fore.
