CGAIR is a global research partnership dedicated to reducing poverty and enhancing food and nutrition security through agricultural research.
Founded in 1971, CGIAR brings together a network of research centres that work on improving crop varieties, sustainable farming practices, and resource management to address the challenges of global food security and climate change. Its research spans various areas, including crop and livestock improvement, agro-ecology, and policy research.
CGIAR operates with a mission to provide innovative solutions and evidence-based recommendations that help farmers and policymakers around the world. The organisation collaborates with governments, development agencies, and private sector partners to implement its findings and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The CGIAR system comprises several international research centres, each specialising in different aspects of agricultural science. Together, these centres work to advance agricultural knowledge and drive progress toward a more food-secure and resilient world.
Each of the four searches were staggered by some weeks and began with extensive stakeholder engagement from across each of the centers, OneCGIAR Board Members and Executive Management Team members. Subsequently, an extensive search was undertaken for each of the four roles covering a wide range of sectors and geographies.
Of particular importance was equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the candidate generation as well as in the panel composition, consideration of unconscious bias and the interview stages. Internal candidates were also encouraged and considered throughout the process, which was of importance to this search to ensure the talent pipeline within CGIAR was effectively utilised.
A longlist of c.10 candidates for each role were interviewed by Perrett Laver and a subsequent shortlist of 4-6 candidates recommended for each role.
