The University strives to be “A University for Luxembourg and the world”, shaping societal, cultural, technological, and economic development through proactive engagement with public and private partners.
It aims to deliver excellent research, high-quality education, and measurable societal impact, with a core emphasis on interdisciplinary and international collaboration.

The University of Luxembourg plays a central role in advancing Luxembourg’s national ambition to further develop a sustainable, knowledge-driven, and digitally advanced society. Anchored in the National Research and Innovation Strategy, the University pursues three core missions: research, higher education and the contribution to the social, cultural and economic development of Luxembourg. To achieve its long-term strategic goals, the University has identified key areas within each of its three missions.

The University’s main Library, the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC), located in the heart of the Belval campus, is much more than a library: it is a hub of innovation and knowledge designed to foster research, learning, collaboration and outreach. Its building, a true architectural masterpiece, combines the restructuring of an old industrial hall with bold contemporary design, and spans 14,000 m², 10.7 km of shelving and more a thousand working spaces. It stands as a prestigious façade for Luxembourg and for the University of Luxembourg, reflecting the ambition and academic excellence of both the country and the institution. Equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced technologies, the LLC offers a unique environment where students, researchers, and professionals come together to create, share and innovate. Complementing the central role of the LLC in Belval, a library hub specialising in European law research is located in the Weicker building, benefiting from its proximity to European institutions and Luxembourg’s financial district.
Integrated within the Vice-Rectorate for Research of the University of Luxembourg, the Library plays a strategic role in academic and scientific development. The scope of the LLC is currently expanding, with an increased focus on digital services, information systems, research data management and integrating the Weicker specialised library, offering a unique opportunity for strategic leadership and for shaping the University’s service portfolio.
You will join a team of more than 35 library and information professionals based on two campuses (Belval and Kirchberg), committed to delivering high-quality services, collections, research support, and innovating to meet user needs.
