Where We Can Help

The Board Chair plays a crucial leadership role, setting the tone for the Board’s culture, priorities and functions, while helping to shape an inspiring and ambitious agenda for the organisation.

The role of Chair can require someone with vast experience in governance and leadership within complex, often international organisations. Our cross-sectoral approach and global reach means we can go further to support our clients with these crucial appointments.

We support clients across the public, private, and non-profit sectors to appoint candidates with financial services, audit and investment experience, and who are skilled in evaluating the technical and strategic competencies needed for these positions.

These candidates sit on the main Board and/or chair Audit, Finance, Remuneration or Risk Committees. By securing top-tier finance and audit professionals, we help our clients to enhance their Board’s overall effectiveness, leading to better financial oversight, risk management, and strategic decision-making.

Working closely with our cross-sector experts, we support Boards to identify specific skills gaps and secure candidates with appropriate levels of expertise and diverse backgrounds.

Specific portfolios where we have successfully secured outstanding talent include: Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Clinical, Digital, Governance, Internationalisation, Investment, Change Management, Communications, Fundraising, and Theology.

No matter the sector, a Board must reflect the diversity of its organisation, and of wider society. That means consciously factoring in characteristics like gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic background, and other lived experience.

We provide both support and challenge to clients, helping them achieve representation goals and build inclusive environments for their Boards.

Successful Boards understand the importance of having an eye on the future. Weve run numerous campaigns designed to deliver nextgeneration talent and proactive succession planning. For example, our Governance Apprenticeship Programme for Higher Education Institutions helps develop talent for future members of Governing Bodies.

Our knowledge of the potential market is second to none, and we stay aware of dynamic emerging talent. We conduct regular talent mapping exercises for ourselves and for our clients, often coupled with structured development programmes. Often these programmes are structured on a multi-year or continuous basis.
