The pilot phase of the Perrett Laver and Berlin Research 50 collaboration, better known as the PL_BR50 Mentoring Program, has concluded successfully.

In May, 14 female scientists and science managers graduated from the program. During the 9-months long journey, which was led by founder Dr Nicole Shea (PL) and Dr Anja Sommerfeld (BR50), participants had the opportunity to reflect on personal branding and communication strategies and to gain insights into career paths across sectors.

Through personal coaching and training sessions, two mentees were able to climb the career ladder already towards the end of the program. We are very proud to feature one of them, Dr Esmeralda Valiente, below here. Details regarding the next application round will be forthcoming later this fall.

Impact of Perrett Laver on my professional career

Participating in the Perrett Laver program has been an inspiration in my career. Through its personalised approach, I gained invaluable insight into my leadership potential, allowing me to refine my skills and to broaden my perspective.

The program´s focus on improving strategic networking, change management, training presentation skills, which connected me with a community of like-minded female professionals, fostered the exchange of ideas, propelling my career to new heights.

Moreover, the outstanding mentorship I received has been very useful in navigating complex challenges, empowering me to interview at my best recently and to secure my current position as Head of Department in the National Metrology Institute of Germany at Berlin.

Perrett Laver has truly been pivotal in shaping my professional trajectory. I strongly recommend and support the continuation of this program to help future female professionals to achieve leadership positions.
